Special training and Traditional Archery Competition in Lamia / Central Greece, December 29 2013

Greek Traditional Archery

On Sunday 29th December 2013 the Archery Team of the Historical Studies Association “KORYVANTES” made a special training session in the form of Traditional Archery Competition at Panagiotis Stamelos Horsmaship Club in Mexiates of Phthiotis Province in Central Greece.

The Competition followed the rating, distancing and targeting rules of the World Traditional Archery Federation, that are applied in all the great Archery Contests abroad. Our Association’s archers from Thessalonica, Lamia and Athens had the chance to shoot in middle and long ranges that approximated 100m. For the first time in Greece archers shot at a Turkish type target (puta).

Our archers bid farewell to a very successful year, while renewing their appointment in the hospitable land of Spercheios river for the near future.
