On Sunday 14 April 2013, the Association for Historical Studies KORYVANTES. held a Traditional Archery and Sarisa Spear Training Course.
Our archers performed a highly successful series of exercises in to close-range targets , while testing shootings in motion.
Furthermore, by using experimentally reconstructed Sarisa & "Pezaiteroi" shield and under the technical guidance of the researcher Stefanos Skarmintzos, our members had the unique and rare opportunity to be trained to the use this weapon. and to find the comparative advantages/disadvantages compared the use of hoplite spear and the specific technical difficulties handling by a non-trained users.
